bridesmaid dresses

We got the bridesmaid dresses!

I made a drastic change from my original color scheme. I love the color teal, but the dresses it was available in at David's Bridal just really did nothing for me.

I didn't want the usual satin or tea length bridesmaid dresses.

And I fell in love with a Destination bridesmaid dress- so flowly and vintage feeling. So I got in while it's a limited edition in black.

This was THE dress. The same feeling I got when I saw my gown.

And black is so rock 'n roll and I can have my pink flowers!! YAY

Our Photographer

Ever since I met Yun Cee Ng and saw her work, I wanted her to photograph my wedding.

As luck has it, she left her editorial days behind and is specializing in wedding photography!

I know we'll have the best, most candid, detail-oriented wedding photos to display.

The Cupcakes!

My lust for cupcakes, of course, must be integrated into the most important day of my life. First, I wanted the cupcake cake. But I was vetoed by pretty much everyone but Michael on that.

So I found a cupcake tiered centerpiece that guests can each take a cupcake home as their favor.

Perfect! I don't want typical centerpieces. Plus, cupcakes are edible and everyone loves them (or should). So they will go in the little takeout boxes AND decorate the tables.

Save the Date

We booked the wedding at the Knoll Country Club East in Parsippany. The big seller for me was the outdoor gazebo for the wedding, TENT (!) for the smorgasboard cocktail hour, and endless desserts.

There was no need to look anywhere else. This was our first choice and we loved it. And got a great, great unbeatable deal.

Coming to a mailbox near you soon... I made these awesome Save the Date postcards at vistaprint.com. Happy I got to use my creative side and do stuff on my own and not order it all to be done by a stranger. Don't you just love Skye's hiney in the background?

I Got My Ring!!!

Michael wanted me to look at the rings he picked out before he made the Big Purchase. So I went into the jewerly store and my first choice ring turned out to be the ring he picked for me!! He knows me so well.

I love it because it is so antique and classy looking. All the other rings we looked at were the same ol' thing (just like wedding gowns!) and this one is truely a unique stunner.

THE DRESS

When I found out my dream dress was discontinued, I was devisated and determined to track it down. After numerous tries and no luck, I gave up.

My first stop to try on dresses was at the Demetrios Bridal Salon at Macys. He is my fav. wedding gown designer and made my two discontinued favs. The people there tried really hard to locate my dream dress. But I didn't find out until yesterday that they possibly could have gotten it shipped from a warehouse in Florida to me, but I never got the message they left weeks ago. It's ok though, as you'll see..........

Yesterday I went to a trunk show there again. I was almost not going to go. Thankfully I did, because I got my dress!!! Well, an updated version of it that has all the exact details of the other one I wanted. It was meant to be. The maniquen at the front door was wearing it and as soon as I walked in and saw it, I said, "That's my dress!"
